HikingGreat!

We beached our kayaks on the Concord River to check this place out. It was busy on a Saturday afternoon but still very pleasant. The paths are wide, flat, clean, and well demarcated.

Great for anyone needing a more accessible trail, except one blowdown at the end of edge trail (end of walk, going clockwise from parking lot).

We went for a "get out of the house" exploration walk. We were not disappointed. Lovely walk with pleasant breezes. Pretty flowers and wildlife to watch.

Very nice trail, no problems using a double stroller here. I was not able to locate where to pay for parking though. I’m sure chasing my 5 year old with twins helped with this,

Biked our in reformatory bike trail and then did the edge trail to the dike trail on 4/25/20. Beautiful views of the wetlands with tons of wildlife. The trail was flat and easy.

Fun trail for bird watching. Stroller accessible so nice to go with kids. Decent amount of people there. The path is not super wide so can be challenging to social distance.

Came here mid November and it was the perfect place for what I wanted today. The majority of the walk you’re in the wetlands so I was able to soak up all the vitimin D from the sun. I saw ducks, geese, and an eagle . Great place for joggers as it is a flat smooth surface all around.

I just did the trail again with my family and this time we did the whole Dike Loop as well as the trail to the left side of the impoundment as well. It was a little hot day so everyone was a bit uncomfortable but we were treated to very nice scenery and even a mud fish flapping and struggling its way across into the pond from the canal. We didn't see much wildlife that day however for some reason but I did see interesting mushrooms and wildflowers and even caught a dragonfly.

What an interesting place with so much water lillies in the impoundment. As for wildlife, we saw a blue heron, an egret, swan and plenty of ducks. For such a nature's paradise, I would expected the place to attract even more exotic wildlife. I plan on returning under better condition, like earlier in the morning when all the water lilies are blooming. Even still it was a memorable walk. I especially like the observation boardwalk on Main Dike trail.

Grew up just down the street from here. Now living on the West Coast. Back for a visit in summer 2017. Just like I remembered it. Beautiful scenery and wildlife. When I was very young there was an otter enclosure in the water. Glad to see that's gone.
