Well marked trails with lots of options to expand. Beautiful lake views. Didn’t love the end as it finishes on a narrow, traveled road.

Did the Cat Rock loop in reverse to avoid spending loads of time on the road, but the camp ground section in the second quarter was kind of disappointing. Nice views from the peak at the end.

This trail was not great. The beginning of the trail was fine, then it got very difficult to navigate on reaching the Hale Day camp. Eventually the trail lead us, after walking in circles trying to find the path after the beach area, to a road with no shoulder. Apparently, we were supped to walk the road back to the parking lot, but it seemed dangerous with no shoulder and tons of cars and bikers. We decided to take a trail across the road and ended up at the parking lot eventually.

HikingGreat!

Great hike for first two miles and then it wanders through parking lots and onto road for last half. I would look to change up second half with some of the other nearby trails.

Too much of the second half of trail is on roadways and through parking lots. At points the trail, if you call it that, just ends. Try something else.

Good and easy one. Less elevation not too hard for kids too. Some locations around pond may be too crowded because of activities for kids and families. Parking is charged in some locations.

We did this trail mid-June and it was free of bugs and mosquitoes. Path is relatively easy, rocky at some places. One thing I didn't like is the last part of the path is on the road and cars passes by with little walking room on the side of the road. I probably wouldn't repeat this one.

25% of this hike is on a road. So there’s that. The rest is nice.

This is a nice easy trail. There are lots of different pit stops along the way to explore like ponds/lakes, rocky areas etc. It was pretty heavily trafficked with people. There was a lot of areas that had patches of poison ivy so be weary. Other than that I would definitely come back.

Great trail with an absolutely beautiful beach! There’s a loop that goes off the trail about halfway through that I would skip next time.

This trail has loads of variety, and I had a total blast! Noanet Pond is gorgeous and the color of sapphire during the warmer months. There are plenty of beaches and access points to the water. Cat Rock exceeded my expectations - what a cool geological formation. I hiked this loop clockwise starting from Powisset Street. The last portion of the hike after the powerlines was mapped along Powisset St., and I was a little uncomfortable walking along that road to complete the loop. Instead, I backtracked and followed the powerline trail (red trail) back to the parking lot.

We loved spending the day at Hale! The trails aren’t marked very well but using your app you can figure it out. You can do a short 2 miles stroll around the pond or build out into a much longer hike depending on how you meander across the different trails. Great for dogs and kids!

Great trail, a little hard to follow in some parts so be ready to look at your phone a lot. Also, the app sends you the last part along a busy road with no sidewalk, very very unsafe. I ended up doing it crossing back and forth where there was some shoulder I could walk. I’d recommend the last loop around the pond just close it and go back along the way you came.

Went for a 4 mike hike around the trails of Cat Rock on Hale Reservation. Only recorded the beginning 1.5 miles around the area for Cat Rock. Then I detoured straight for Noanet Pond and enjoyed the picnic bench by the water. I took the paved path down and back around the reservation. It was snowy and quiet on this off-season day. Multiple options for windy paths, or paved paths. Beautiful lake and interesting features to look at.

First to Review

A nice little trek turned into a 5+ mile loop through Hale Reservation. I've never been to Cat Rock so thought I'd check that out. Pretty cool ledge in the heart of the Reservation. Plenty of alternative ways to do this hike/trail run. Enjoy!
