It was decent, super overgrown. Normally I wouldn’t care too much about that, but there’s tons on wild raspberries, so prickers everywhere. My legs r completely scratched up and I had to help my pup get through them, he is very sensitive and has short hair so doesn’t protect him from the boo boos. If the trails were better maintained it would b an awesome hike, but the prickers took away stars.

Every step I took I was being bitten by any insect with wings. I hated it but I found the pond. It says the pond can be used for swimming but idk how clean it is, and I’d only consider coming here if I find how to get to the parking near the pond and not a 30 minute walk away.

The trail was EXTREMELY overgrown. Some of the weeds and plants grew tall and thick and were grown past my knees. At certain parts it was difficult to identify the trail from the surrounding wilderness. There was evidence of bears early on the trail and the area was extremely buggy. Bug spray is a must. The best part of the trail was around Dean Pond. Unless you are looking to bushwhack I would suggest only doing the pond trail.

Running

Main trail is a good run but side trails are a mess today after the rain. Wasnt busy and fun to run with my dog on a leash. Didnt get to run the trail thats in this app but turned it into a 6.3mile run, mix of trail and road.

Started at Dearth Hill Rd parking area and headed west down the Gorge Trail which is very overgrown with no views of the gorge. Continued on Dean Pond Rd to Dean Pond dam (passed a big coyote eating a deer). Plenty of broken trees as this area is in the "tornado alley". Bushwacked up to the top of Dean Mtn then continued around the Pond. Returned to parking area via loop trail. Pretty nice, the best area is around the Dean Pond (you can park down there too and save the extra few miles if you want).
