Have fun and frolic in this historic neighborhood. Boston is a city of neighborhoods and a great way to introduce kids to the city is not by dragging them all over the place, but to tackle it one neighborhood at a time. The Back Bay is a charming place to start. It really was a bay, part of the Charles River. Actually, it was more of a swamp than a bay and was considered a health hazard. In the 1800s it was filled in and developed over a period of 30 years. It's something to think about when you are walking around the area.

Boston is so rich in the history of our nation and an excellent place to visit with the children. There is so much to explore!

The Swan Boats in the Public Garden was a great memory for me as a young kid. Our visits into the city usually coincided with lots of other fun stuff, often ending with a Red Sox game at Fenway!
