HikingGreat!

Nice well-defined one mile hike. Thin beach sand and pine needle trails with some planking over the mushy parts. There is a small pond you will walk around. The only markers are some posted pictures with descriptions of some tree types. Very picturesque.

It's nice and easy and short but use bug spray or else you'll also knock off 2 stars from your review. You have been warned.

Walked the trail on a sunny spring morning and the emerging beech leaves were a bright green against the blue sky. Encountered a very friendly nuthatch and red squirrel on the boardwalk by the pond’s edge. Don’t miss the short detour off to the right at the end of the loop (if walked in a counter-clockwise direction) which takes you to a dock where you will find pretty pond views.

Gentle inclines. Peat bog ponds are so black. Pretty cool.

Really pretty. We clocked the loop at more like 1.4 miles. Definitely do this hike.

super fun and fairly different trail for the outer cape. lots of signs that identify the different trees, and wonderful fall folliage along the ponds.

What an Amazon experience! The trail is amazing. Mostly flat. However, there are a few stairs to climb. The view was amazing. Feeding the birds was hands down our favourite!

First to Review

A nice mostly level walk through a beech forest with brackish swamp areas (level of water depending on recent rainfall). In many spots, the trail is soft sand, so it can be a nice workout. At the beginning of the trail is a wood walkway where chickadees have come to expect walkers to bring sunflower seeds - the birds will come to your hand to take the seed.
