Assabet to Gardner Hill is a 13.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Maynard, Massachusetts that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from April until September.
Great way to connect the two trail systems with some nice peaks to run up and down. Abandoned buildings, bunkers, old army training obstacle course, view of firefighter academy, and even an abandoned neighborhood. Could spend all day exploring.
leaf covered. nice area, plenty of real-estate, wide trails. can be done with gravel bike easy. double track. mostly old pave/hardpack. not adventurous
Some parts of the trail were closed and the flies were omnipresent... but a cool hike nonetheless, once modified. Take some time to explore the old military bunkers!
There are some trails in this area but Taylor Way is not one. it's mostly old asphalt. I would stick to Pemigewassett, Towhee trail. Taylor west closed off and many other areas too. (Some) hunters don't want you to hike here. pros: plenty birds and chipmunks. Some nice ponds. I didn't do Gardner Hill today.
Abandoned buildings, bunkers, old army training obstacle course, view of firefighter academy, and even an abandoned neighborhood. Could spend all day exploring. The trail going off of heritage road isn't very good I would just skip it and explore other stuff
