Arlington's Great Meadow Trail is a 1.9 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Lexington, Massachusetts that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
This delightful trail circles a large meadow that’s mostly level with a few ups and downs, and surprisingly was not slippery at all. Although there was a lot of snow on the trail, it had been tamped down firmly by plenty of hikers before me. The boardwalks on the lower elevations of the trail were fun to cross. They were one-person wide with thankfully a few “cut-outs” which came in handy for passersby. One drawback is a lack of dedicated parking at the trailhead and no shoulder on the road to pull-off. I had to park on a side street a short distance away.
Nice walk in the woods with fun boardwalks. Trail was not always clear or easy to follow.
Nice walk up around Gerry hill, out on the two islands and back to Medford’s highest point
The section of trail paralleling Circle Road and Hillcrest Avenue does not exist (and hasn't for a long time, if ever). You'll need to use those two streets (easy, and not unpleasant) instead. There are even posted signs with directions to do so. This is a nice walk in an otherwise relatively dense part of suburbia.
Great trails and lots of options. Definitely wear good shoes can easily turn an ankle with all the roots and rocks.
part of the tail is no longer present had to jump out to the street.
