Not really a hiking trail more of a walk in the park. Still absolutely beautiful. Has some great information. Good place for kids and dogs and maybe a picnic!! Really pretty!

Mostly dirt walking trail through woods, along a glacial esker, and across a quaking bog. Some sections paved through garden loop. Improvements include wooden walkways and bridges over small streams, as well as some sections with wooden benches. Numbered posts mark species on garden loop, but no handouts with identifications. Accessed by Billings trail to Concord Road, and by parking at end of Wood Lane.

a very nice combination of English garden style and woods atmosphere. Up in the middle of town if you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere! these folks do an awesome job!

Most of this trail was easy, shaded, and quiet, in the middle of a Friday afternoon. I got my heart rate up with periodic jogging. The area next to parking lot on Taylor has a few picnic tables and is very lovely. There are benches scattered throughout the trails. I will definitely be back.

This place is a great place to see some flowers. The northern part of this loop has a number of nicely landscaped areas, and throughout the rest, there are a number of wildflowers. There is even a path called "Wildflower Path", but it's not included on the suggested hike (the yellow loop). There are lots of birds in the area. I encountered one birder who was looking for warblers on my hike today. For me, the most interesting part of this is the aluminum boardwalk that crosses the bog in the far southern area. There were a lot of frogs making very interesting sounds. I didn't see any pitcher plants today, but the signs there say that they exist. So maybe they'll be up in another week or two. In the far Southeast corner (the part that is parallel with Minot Ave), there is a long wooden boardwalk that seems to be "closed", at least according to the signage at both ends of it. The signs say that it will be closed "starting on May 4" for some rework, and to use alternate paths. It is now May 24, and the signs are still there. It seems that the boardwalk is still in working order, so I did use it today, and just stepped over the signs. The mud right before and after this boardwalk is probably more than they would like, so maybe it is being extended, I'm not really sure. There are a lot of dogs at this location, so if you prefer not to deal with them, then it may not be the best choice. Other than that, it's a great place for a short little hike. For those with strollers, I think you can do the entire top part of this hike with a stroller. The bottom part is a tighter trail and has lots of roots, but most of the top part is paved, or at least very flat. Edit: I hiked this again today (last day of August), and all the trails are open, and all the boardwalks are operational.
