This trail connects the Liberty Dam trail and the Oakland Rd trail. You can also just take a loop onto the road and go back to the trailhead at Wards Chapel Rd. Some nice scenery including an abandoned water wheel are along the way

We did not dare walking through the driveway. It is specified do not enter. We started on another trail on the left and tried to find a way to access the trail but were unsuccessful. We ended up following the other trail. Scenery is very pretty but trail not maintained.

Decent trail. Not very scenic. Pretty muddy and definitely a bushwack trail at times. Old water wheel is worth the hike.

Pros: decently pretty, not busy (went late morning on a Saturday in May), gentle elevation changes Cons: views of the reservoir are not too close to the trail, muddy (though it did storm last night), thorns and other overgrown bushes (being as it was overgrown in early May, I won’t be doing it in summer), have to park in shoulder of road and walk on private driveway

This is a pleasant hike, not very strenuous, with views of the reservoir. It has been well maintained with recent maintenance. It is however somewhat hard to find with very limited parking. The trailhead is a short walk down a drive marked private. After the bridge look for the pine stand on the left for the marked trail. My GPS showed a loop beginning about halfway down the trail. The top of the loop was at the waterfall and old mill but we were unable to find the continuation so we just made it an out and back. Beautiful spring day, nice hike!

You must park on Wards Chapel . Walk down the private drive and be respectful to owner. Trail is located after bridge on left. I checked Baltimore County land plot and the bridge and private drive are all owned by Baltimore City. (not sure who maintains it) There must be an easement. Just avoid walking past the trail head into private property. Tail need a little TLC but is very beautiful

You have to walk a little up a private drive, but as the other post said- across the bridge on the left is the start of the trail. If you walk and can see the private house you've gone too far. Also, if you take the split to the right the trail is not very well marked so you will need this app to figure out where you are going. Other than that it was a great hike and there was a nice little waterfall and old wheel house where the stream and the reservoir meet on the top side of the hike.

Do you have to go on someone's private driveway to go on this trail? That's ridiculous. I rather not take my chances here....

This starts on a PRIVATE DRIVE. From wards chapel, don't go on the gate 1 trail, follow private drive and once across the wooden bridge, turn LEFT in front of large evergreen
