Beautiful, shady trail but not well marked in all places. There are both hiker and biker trail that run along from the river to the trailhead. Note: there are many stream crossings on rocks. Path is narrow in many spots.

It was an okay trail! A bit hard to follow, definitely needed to follow the map. Also not sure where the waterfall is. Overall, pretty enjoyable

This was a great hike! We got there early on Friday morning. There were a few cars by the entrance. Thank goodness we had downloaded the map off this app though! Markings are VERY unclear. We came across a few people in the beginning, mostly bikers. And the loop was pretty sparse of people. Once we got on the out and back portion though, we started coming across more people. Some parts of the trail are pretty narrow, so it can be hard to get out of the way. There’s plenty of access points/ and “beaches” to the water you can have a resting point at. There’s also a point on the trail where you’re climbing uphill on a BGE access trail just a heads up because we were a little confused at that point.

Nice trail! Pretty easy to follow except at the trail junctions. Without a compass, paper map, or of course this cool app it could be vexing. However, between the distant roads, the railway, and the river, you cannot get lost. You might not be where you want to be but not lost!

Trail is very poorly marked and maintained in certain areas. Our group got lost several times, as well as other parties who were there. Walking along the river is peaceful and enjoyable but other than that, there are no destination waterfalls, views, or landmarks...would consider it kind of boring. Parking was packed on a Sunday but we managed to find.

Nice trail along the river with scenic views and opportunities to get in the water and swim. There were a lot of people swimming but hardly anyone on the hiking trail. It had rained so was very muddy. Woodstock Inn looks like a great place for a deli sandwich after the hike.

This is a beautiful river-side hike, some opportunities for swimming. Please note the waterfall shown in the first picture does not exist on the marked hike. There is a small picturesque waterfall in a stream feeding the river, but that’s it. The full loop (in search of this mystical waterfall) is a bit much for young kids. Agree with previous posts that it’s easy to wander off trail, definitely have a map handy. If you’re hiking with young kids (8 and under), an in-and-out along the river is perfect. The trail ends at a little rocky beach that’s great for wading/swimming and then you can turn back.

This was a nice trail with lots of easy riverside hiking which turns into a moderate climb. The only things were that there is very little roadside parking, and one part of the trail is on a gravel road through the power lines, which would be sunny and hot in the summer.

Hiked this trail today and loved it! No longer muddy as previous posts have said. It’s a beautiful trail, my only thing is that it is not well marked. If I didn’t use my AllTrails Map for the trail I would have taken the wrong trail a few times since you’ll encounter a number of forks in the path and none will be marked. Two of the forks you’ll encounter are for trails that are shortcuts to the other side of the loop which you could take if you wanted a shorter hike. The white blazes seem to disappear the farther you go into this trial which made it difficult to navigate so I recommend anyone hiking this trail to use their map (AllTrails or others) when hiking this trail. Other than that it was a great mix of inclines and views.

One of my new favorite hikes.

Probably the best local trail we’ve hiked these last few weeks - almost no one out there - very peaceful - I would caution that where you see the loop follow a road (under the high tension wires) the road is paved with rocks and could be tough on a dog‘s paws - but I think you can swing out further into another trail, miss that road, and then loop back to the main trail. But just a wonderful hike on a perfect day.

Nice hike with few hikers on a beautiful day. Mountain bikes were more popular today and friendly trail sharers. The trail along the river was best, rocky toad under the power lines the not so fun part.

Good, and moderate hike. Parking easily located across the bridge from the trail head next to an inn. please remember to park 7.5 feet from train tracks to avoid getting towed.

It’s a beautiful trail and also which is nice for a bike definitely I’ll come back here

Last time, I did the whole trail with a group in July. This time due to dusk coming sooner, we only did the three mile trail. We saw some frogs and a deer while hiking.

The terrain can be rocky at times and there is overgrowth on the way back. A majority of the hike is in the shade so it wasn't too bad. It was a bit muggy though.

Moderate trail, multiple stream crossings, some inclines etc. Pretty overgrown in spots & not easy to follow. Not a designated parking area/ lots of cars parked along the road. Pretty views along the river and cool insects spotted. Took us about 2.5 hours to complete

Not 'hard' as rated... very easy in fact. First 2 miles is like a boardwalk, then there is one big hill towards turn around point into some nifty power lines. followed the white trail, it is a bit easy to get lost near the houses.

Good trail. Close to a neighborhood at some point but overall great trail. Almost no markings, need this app to follow the trails

Fun trail. Little muddy, but not terribly. Passed a couple groups of bikes, maybe eight bikes in total. Trail itself was maybe moderate difficult, at most, but definitely wouldn’t give it a difficult rating. Would hike it again for sure. Seems like a great tubing or swimming spot in the summer!
