Quiet hike in Loch Raven, up to the point where Western Run enters the Gunpowder. Few hikers, some hunters. Nice views when the leaves are off the trees. Hard to follow the path on the north end.

Really enjoyed this hike. Really easy to find the entrance and follow the trail most of the way. Around the 1.8 mile mark you cross a steam and the path disappears. This is a great hike if you are looking for some Steep inclines in the area and want to get the heart rate up. This is not a path with a ton of spectacular views of the reservoir. Overall I liked the hike, but would recommend hiking boots. There are several swampy areas that take careful navigation. This is a great path for dogs and birding. We did not pass anyone else on the path, but could see a few houses along the hike.
