Muddy in spots but a great walk with views of a waterfall and stream.

As others mentioned, there are several other little trails in parallel to this around the Rock Run historic area where it goes along the stream, but stick to the colors and isn't really a problem (good blazing...only a couple I noticed might have been faded). Has a nice bit of elevation to it as well. It is a little rocky along the northern part as it ascends up above the stream (mostly scattered loose rocks), but the rest was mostly devoid of them. Nice waterfall at the little dam in the stream.

It’s difficult to determine how to stay on this trail if you’re intent on following the All Trails map. I would have been lost without GPS. The trail begins at the bottom of the mansion driveway as the purple trail. Just past the waterfall it becomes the white (land of promise) trail, and then at about the halfway point it turns into the yellow (rocky run) trail. Where the loop closes it becomes the purple trail again to the end. The trail highlight is the waterfall, otherwise nothing special. Falling leaves in some places made it difficult to see where the trail actually was. Definitely not an “easy” trail; I would consider it moderate. The elevation is quite steep and some kids would have difficulty.

Trail has a lot of cool features. At the beginning, one has all the old buildings and the apiary from the living history museum. The trail itself is pretty well maintained and gives the hiker the opportunity of walking through a hardwood forest. At the far end of the loop there is a grist mill, an antebellum stone house with many of it putter structures standing, a dam that has a nice water fall feature, and river views. It’s a nice little trail!

I have found the Susquehanna trail system particulars to find. So to get to this trail park at the parking lot behind the mansion on Rock Run house on rock run road. You then take the purple trail with a pretty good climb to it to get to the yellow trail which is this trail.

Had a difficult time finding where this trail began and ended. Had the Trail app and GPS. No luck. Recommend posting signs showing the trail start and stop. Thanks.

This was a nice trail. I think the elevation gain is a bit off. The elevation gain is in one chunk up to the top of the ridge. Additionally, the trail was really wet. There are a few spots that were so muddy that we needed to go off trail. My dog was sinking down in the mud. There weren't really any sights to see other than nature.
