Trailhead marked as 3739 Snaggy Mountain Road. Someone penciled in on the info board that this the Rock Maze Trail. No blazes but well worn easy trail. Small parking lot and no facilities.

Once we found it-really neat! Boulders at the end of it full of tunnels and amazing crevices with trees somehow growing up out of them. We pulled into gravel parking lot but nothing on the board stated the trail was there ! Bizarre to say the least. Drove around area and went back to sign. Finally a family came out of trail there and said yes that was the trail and it was worth it. When we left, another family was looking around trying to figure out if they were in the right place. It really needs a laminated sign on the board pointing to the right.

Great short hike to a super cool “maze” of massive boulders. The kids loved the maze and the hike was easy enough that they never complained. You can easily do this hike and check out the falls in one afternoon.

We adventured around a bit and ended up finding a rattlesnake. There are warning signs that are marked even better than the trail itself, but I want to really hammer home that this is something to be legitimately prepared for. We found it cooled up at the base of a fern, and was just a few feet from my friend’s sandaled feet and bare legs before we heard what sounded like a loud cicada chirp. Highly recommend boots for this one in the future!

This is a great experience, the trail is narrow and we were there right after a rain storm so it was very muddy but I don’t think it’s usually that way. After a short hike you arrive at huge boulders that make a maze that is a lot of fun to explore.

An excellent surprise! Enjoyed it thoroughly. Hardly anyone there. A little squishy and mazy

Great spot for kids. The maze is really all at the end but worth the very short and pretty walk up. Lots of jungle feel in the summer months. Glad we stopped! Took a 3 year old and it was fine walking up, needed a rest on the way down so we carried.

20 years i have been visiting this area and thanks to All Trails i learned of this for the first time. Kids will love this short trail. the maze is well worth lingering and exploring. In side the rocks it is 5 to 10 degrees F cooler than in the sun. Watch for the many jagged and poorly done trail maintenance cuts on small trees, they are an obstacle course. Bring your camera!

Not well marked but the Rock Maze is very cool. A lot to explore once you reach the maze. For such a short hike i was really impressed with what we got to see.

Nice easy trail. Only one other family here as opposed to the overcrowded Swallow Falls trails! Nice add on to Swallow Falls since it’s close by and very quick hike. Could be marked a bit better at trail head.

Fun hike with the little ones. Several trees that you will need to climb over (or under). I’ve been here with the dog and kids twice in the past week! Bring bug spray!

This trail was really enjoyable after three donuts from Glazed and Confused. It is blowdown in multiple areas but a kind soul has clearly made alternative paths to get to the rock maze. Easy to navigate. Graffiti is still on rocks. Parking is limited. Get there early and enjoy the eerie maze alone.

Lovely, short trail with very interesting rock formations to explore. Too bad a knucklehead(s) decided to deface the area with nonsensical graffiti. Worth a visit.

We love this trail! Although all the trail head markers are gone,it is tricky to find, but not impossible. We have been here multiple times and fall in love more every time. I do want to mention though today when we went there was some very derogatory messages spray painted on the rocks. We scraped a good bit off but there is still a lot there. This is the first time we have ever seen any kind a graffiti there so be prepared,if you have kids, to have a lot of questions asked if they see it.

Beautiful short easy trail to the amazing rock maze. Kids and I loved scrambling through and over the rocks. Plus, lots of thick moss and roots growing over the rocks make it even more majestic. Definitely worth the visit.

Easy and unique trail. The kids had a great time exploring the maze. You'll likely be surprised by the size of maze area. I am always a skeptic and assumed it would be something like a few rocks and a couple 20 ft cracks. It was a lot more substantial than that, but not overwhelming. You won't get "lost", but you might get turned around a bit for 10 seconds if you aren't paying any attention. There's no climbing needed to get through 95% of it, and you can avoid the other 5%, and by "climbing" I mean a big step.

15 minute hike to rocks. Can spend a lot of time getting “lost” in the maze. Interesting place! Parking for about 10 cars. Easy hike for all levels.

I’ve hiked this trail a few times. Dog and kids in tow a couple times. Easy half mile hike in great for families. Kids love playing hide and seek here. Make sure to decide on a meeting point and time if you don’t want to scramble trying to find everyone you brought with you when it’s time to leave. Very different in winter with ice flowing over the rocks.
