Great trail - actually part of the billy goat trail but using the early access path to make the loop shorter. Lots of walking over large rocks, and a 40ft traverse/scramble but not bad when going up it. VERY busy trail though, would recommend weekday or early.

Lots of people out and about. Mostly shady and simple.

Enjoyed scaling the rock formations along the river. Great trail, took a little longer than originally expected. Section 2 of billy goat trail closed.

The part of the trail that is towpath is very nice and easy. Once you’re on the billy goat trail it turns more difficult. It’s definitely properly named and a ton of fun!

Really enjoyed true views. It is quite a lot of climbing over rocks with single file lines so might be hard to do with a really large group. The footpath nearby is also really nice. We saw quite a few snakes and turtles. Also, quite a muddy hike as well, and not a whole lot of tree shade in some parts.

Wonderful trail! Amazing views. We did it with 4 kids from 3 to 14 years old. Granted, we have been hiking several times a week for over 2 months. It is not a first time kind of hike. Difficult parts with steep rocks, but very worth it! Billy Goat trails does not allow dogs. The waterfalls view is worth the extra mile :)

This was a great park and a great hike. Very, very busy. The parking lot is closed so you can only park on the streets around the park, not ideal, I hate parking in front of residential homes. The falls were beautiful, there were also ample places to stop near the river and rest. I very much recommend this park and trail.

4 stars because the waterfalls are very beautiful. The trail to get there and the crowds deserve 2 stars. However, it is worth putting up with the crowds to see the white waters of the Potomac river. Trail is easy and can be muddy. If you can, go after heavy rains, the falls are at their best.

Nice trail, only able to walk part of it with leashed dog. We stopped in on our way to NC from PA and it was a nice spot. Nice little hangout on a little beachy area and nice views from the rocks.

Very popular hiking spot so usually a big crowd on top of having to pay (since Billy Goat has been closed for some time now). Beautiful nature though and you can go off trail if you have the right equipment (some people scale the rocks down).

Awesome trail, lots of pretty scenery. We didn’t know what to expect, but were very pleasantly surprised! Kids (aged 8 & 13) had a blast and didn’t want to leave. Lots of jumping from rock to rock, need to have decent balance to take trails near the water, however there are easy trails that are bicycle and accessible for all ages. Can get very crowded. Clean restrooms

Great place to hike and scramble. The first half is paved and next half mile is sandy and a few rock scrambles. It gets difficult after that. Challenged and lots of fun
