Best to get there at sunrise if you start at Paper Mill. Less crowded the closer you get to PA. Two water stops— Monkton and New Freedom.

Awesome trail for running or biking! Flat , porta potties along way.. pretty scenery. Did 5 miles and back - would’ve loved longer if had more time!

Excellent if you are looking to log mileage and maintain a consistent biking pace. Crushed and packed surface, well shaded. Parallels the Gunpowder for some great views. It’s busy on the weekends but traffic thins out thru most of the trail.

Nothing special. Boring and very crowded. But nicely maintained. Good for bikes and strollers. Not a place to come to be one with nature.

August 3, 2019 F.K.T. attempt. Left Ashland Road at approximately 1545hrs. I did not use GPS northbound to conserve battery life on my phone. At approximately 1750hrs I headed south recording my FKT time. I arrived back at Ashland rd at 1915hrs. This trail is in great condition. Minor bridge damage near Wilson rd but it does not affect travel along the trail.

A little crowded today but still good walk. Recommend for those not used to hiking or just getting started due to ease.

Flat, open road for running at pace. Some foot and bike traffic, but plenty of room for all. Very scenic and shaded throughout. Porta-potties! ample parking at numerous spots along the route.

Great day on the trail. Our first time. Attended church at Sherwood Episcopal Church @ 10 am and then went biking. Trail is well shaded, flat with beautiful scenery and there was a mixture of walkers, runners and bikers. Everyone polite and had good trail etiquette!

Always crowded on weekends, but is the safest for family biking.
