A good couple of miles by the water are extremely overgrown. It can get pretty claustrophobic battling bushes and spiders webs every few feet. It’s a great trail in general, but I’m going to start taking the Fire Road to the first field because the overgrown mess is too miserable for me to fight anymore.

This trail surpassed expectations! Right mix of forest and brush with an amazing swimming area about 1.5-2 miles in. Pretty little cove coming down off a stream. Moderate with some great hills and it wasn’t too rocky. You could actually look up with you were walking! Really happy with this find.

There is some parking near the road. The trail is mainly shaded. Most of the trails are not well marked so have a map or gps with you. There are plenty of side paths that go different places. There are parts of the trail that are over grown. Also, on this map around mile 2 on the trail there is a big tree that has come down and blocked the trail. Tried to find a safe way around it but couldn't. Had to back track and take another trail.

Small parking lot fits about a dozen cars, but I found a spot no problem. Trail was 95% shady with a few rocky spots and elevation here and there but definitely worth it, especially for the treat at the trail head, the bird song and the dragon flies and herons.

It is better than the 3 stars, but not quite 4. If you avoid the route on the water it is a solid 4.5. As others have noted it is quite rocky at the start. The finish is at the road and can totally be skipped.

On the river side, about halfway up, there are lots of little beachy alcoves where you can sit right next to the water. There is also a beach area about 1mi into the trail on that side where there are some very pretty waterfalls.

Decent trails, newly cleared so trails were expanded but not marked. Very hilly!

Super rocky. Don’t wear regularly shoes! Def need proper hiking boots. Not a lot of parking either. We had to park probably a quarter or more miles away then walk to the trail head.

Awesome trail! Pretty good elevated areas that get your blood pumping! Went in March and was beautiful! Trails are not well marked so gps or print out of trails are helpful!

Great hike! A little muddy in places. Not that difficult. Trails are blazed but a bit washed out on the trees, so GPS can help keep you on track. I can see that In the Summer months it could be very overgrown but now in the winter it’s clear with gorgeous views! Definitely will be back!

The trail was not well marked, there were countless trees knocked down in the path, and it was very steep right by the water. It was not worth it!!

Great trail. Very rocky and slanted so not for those with bad knees or ankles.

Trail along the water has alot of down trees. Some are a bit harder than others to get across. very narrow path. I don't recommend for smaller children. However, other paths (NOT along water) are family and pet friendly.

This was a very nice trail for the most part. There were some areas on the trail that narrowed to about 10 inches wide with tall grasses on both sides. Other locations had low clearance due to low tree branches and other shrubbery. I did however enjoy the trail but it was a pain to have to check my Great Dane and two kids for critters. I would hike the trail again but would probably leave the dog at home that day.

This trail was a grind; many unmaintained sections with trees down, low vines, washouts, tons of thorns and very few trail markings; that said it has a few remarkable views and some fun downhill... but I will not be back for a while with so many other nice trails around this area. Too little payoff for the work expense!
