With a morning looking like it was going to pour down all day I decided to hike a short trail then see how the weather decided to play out. This 1.5 mile trail is super easy for you and the family. It's all flat and runs along the river. Great views. There is a spot-a-pot next to the Pond. Even after a hard night of rain the trails were fine. There were of a few puddles and I was able to go around them. The trails are covered in fallen leaves so be careful because they can be slippery if you are dealing with hills. I always carry trekking poles just to be on the safe side.

This trail is great if you have kids because it not a very long loop. Since the recent flood in Ellicott City, many of the trails that run by the Patapsco River ( Stream ) are washed away. This trail is in a bit of a hiding spot next to a parking lot that doesn't get used unless the park is crowded. The trail is in great shape but it’s NOT marked. The trail will take you to the old Gun Rd. and it ends there. You can walk the same way back or take the park road back. I remember when this trail was original used by fisherman. You get to see some stonework for a old bridge that’s gone now. You have a small wooden bridge to cross and there is ( NO ) water crossings.
