Today, this public park consists of a 38-acre lake, a handicapped accessible fishing pier, and aquatic gardens. More than two miles of hiker-biker trails surround and connect the lake with Calvert Road Park and College Park Airport and Aviation Museum. The Luther Goldman Birding Trail attracts both expert and novice bird watchers hoping to glimpse finches, orioles, ibis, and other birds. The Prince George's Audobon Society hosts bird walks every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. Lake Artemesia is a great place for fishing. A non-tidal fishing license is required for persons 16 & older. In addition, a trout stamp is required to catch-and-take trout from the lake. Refer to the Maryland DNR website or the MD DNR Fisheries Guidebook for more information. Vehicles are not permitted on park ground, but visitors can access the park via handicapped accessible trails at the 5200 block of Calvert Road in College Park, or Osage Street and Swathmore Court in Berwyn Heights.

Great place to go with young kids. All paved, short and flat, not very crowded and with some nice spots for picnicking. Parking at the entrance. I subtract one star because in some places the rail track is too close and a bit noisy.

Nice 2.25 mile figure 8 loop. Mildly trafficked. All paved. Geese, turtles, ducks, small birds, and bull frogs all over. It's also used as part of a larger bike trail.

Excellent. Well maintained asphalt trails with good signage. One bathroom location. Time to replace the overall trail maps that were faded. We will definitely go back. Lots of bikers, walkers, joggers.

Whenever I get stressed I come here to sit on a bench and stare out at the water. So much wildlife. I've seen turtles, toads, herons, geese, a snake, deer, and the list goes on. There always families walking with their kids. People fishing. Others riding bikes. Definitely a great spot to run. I come at least twice a week.

This is a nice urban walk around a pretty lake, easily accessibly by metro, bicyclists, walkers, and those in wheelchairs. There is a bathroom and lake is open to fishing. There are a few gazebos near the lake and lots of benches to sit and enjoy the view. The parking lot on 55th Ave off Berwyn has room for about two dozen cars but is often full on a pretty afternoon. This would be an especially nice walk in the early morning or late evening before and after the crowds and when the birds are more active.

I love walking the lake. It is never crowded and you can bike the path too. I recommend morning and early evening. The path is paved and soaks up the heat.
