My first MD trail and it didn’t disappoint. Everywhere you look there’s something exquisite and beautiful. The trails are well kept, the boardwalk extends into the wetlands so you get to really be in the middle of a marsh. There’s plenty of forest as well. There were signs of wildlife every, beaver dams, tracks, nibbled up trees, but I never got to actually see a beaver or an otter. I saw a variety of waterfowl as well as a huge owl. The insects were very colorful and unique. There are a lot of gnats, but not many mosquitos. The trails are simple, only a few elevation changes, a little bit of sand but overall a wonderful experience. They also have interactive posts set up to give information on the plants and animals.
