Beautifully maintained asphalt trail through Charles County's finest meadows, woods and swamps. Plenty of wildlife to see and many places to stop and observe native waterfowl. Several places to park along the trail, but only the La Plata trailhead has parking.

We greatly enjoyed this trail. It's paved with nice scenery. We went on a Saturday, and there were few people using the trail on bikes or walking. There are rest stops along the way but not many with drinking water stations so bring your own. There are also portable toilets along the route. It's a fairly easy route.

This is a beautiful, uncrowded, paved, mostly flat trail with few road crossings, nice views, various wildlife, and a few good nearby restaurants to stop at.

Terrific ride, saw plenty of wildlife, beautiful landscapes. Gentle grade changes. Lots of benches and some small covered picnic areas for breaks.

Beautiful, easy, paved trail through a variety of habitats. Wildlife included cows in the woods. One reviewer said "well maintained" but in truth the trail is brand new so let's hope it does continue to be maintained.

Super nice ride. It was 25 degrees and we were on bikes so we bailed long before finishing. I think it is a spring/fall ride.

This is a nice trail, not too many users (at least today there weren't). We started from the Indian Head side, rode to White Plains and back, about 28 miles round trip. Riding from Indian Head, you get a quick elevation drop for about a mile, then work on elevation gain for about half the ride to White Plains. The return trip to Indian head yelled a quick ride coasting the slight down-hill for most of the ride, but then you need to get to work to get up the last mile back to the trip head...should be quite easy for the moderate biker.
Lots of over-hanging trees provide good shade on hot and sunny days (like today).

This is a paved trail that used to be a railroad. There is a large creek along the trail that is great for kayaking. Worth noting the homeowners that love along the trail have left out a coffin replica and further down there is a small bamboo forest.
