Great trail! Nice areas to go off the trail and sit by the river. Definitely take some Off spray because the mosquitoes are CRAZY!

A short portion of the trail is a wide grass surface trail while the majority is single track through the woods along the Monocacy River. Load up on bug spray, I did not. It was wet and humid when we went and I got eaten alive.

Great trail if you live in Frederick. Good way to get some fresh air near town. You don’t realize that there’s a whole life down by the river.

This is such a nice trail just outside of Frederick. My family hiked it in early April and there great wild flowers blossoming along the trail. It is a pretty easy hike for kids and there are several places where you can go off trail and access the Monocacy River.
