Elk Neck State Park - Pond Loop - Green is a 1.8 mile loop trail located near North East, Maryland that features a lake. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for hiking and camping.
My son and I do this loop with our dog quite often in winter months as they do not allow hunting near this trail. Be careful because in the fall and winter it is easy to lose the trail as the leaves falling cover it up. Never seems to be much traffic in the winter and there are a couple of areas that are pretty steep to navigate with the leaves on the trail. It is marked well but needs a little tending to alert hikers of where the trail is. Overall, we love this loop and the peacefulness that comes with hiking here.
More challenging then TP Lighthouse, no where near as scenic. Worth doing before or after Lighthouse if your looking to tack on mileage with your scenery.
Nice trail, some good small hills. Easy to moderate. Pretty pond views for a short part of trail.
