Need little challenge? Take Cliff trail - Blue trail - Camp group and back. I went on a rainy day. It was muddy and slippery.

A busy trail worth seeing. Easy enough for a casual hike on a nice morning. The falls are worth taking the upper trail to make it feel more worthwhile.

We picked this hike because we wanted our dog to be able to cool off in some water during and after, which she was able to do throughout. If you do the upper and lower trail and go all the way out to the highway at the end it’s shaded and flat the entire way except for one scramble in the middle. The trails are in a heavily trafficked state park with a pretty large lake so when going to the waterfall be prepared to see a lot of people along the way. Overall we had a great time although I wouldn’t rate this a moderate hike probably more on the easy end because of the low elevation gain.

Cliff trail up is very pretty and the view of the falls is nice. Cliff trail down to the falls and lower falls trail is a bit crowded, particularly at the falls.

Great trail. Quick trip from Frederick. Took my dog and Went on a Thursday morning. Saw only 6 other people. Falls trail is easy. Cliff trail a little tougher but very manageable. Trails interconnect so good for exploring the area. The lake is right across the road from the trailhead. I would recommend this trail for most everybody.

Good trail. Some scrambling. Muddy in parts due to rain last night. Falls are beautiful. Going back out via lower trail. Cliff trail is yellow blaze.

It was a really nice hike. Kids had a great time. The biggest downside is how heavily trafficked it is, although it’s not nearly as busy as the easier trail.

Really nice trail to the water falls. Cliff trail was great and is dog friendly. Trail is a little wet and muddy in places.

I did not think that the trail was moderate. I took the cliff trail up to the falls, which had nice terrain and was a good workout. The falls trail was easy.

The cliff trail is rated moderate but it’s really more easy- moderate. I highly recommend doing the cliff trail to the falls. Nice rocks for bouldering as well.

First attended the Maple Syrup Festival at Cunningham Falls State Park, then I hiked this trail. There were nice views of the waterfalls. This was a very nice hike.

Great trail! We did the Upper and Lower trails and they were both extremely enjoyable. We went off the beaten path to go and explore the waterfall more closely. There is a trail leading off that will lead you directly to the waterfall itself. We went at the beginning of May and it was pretty empty which was extremely nice!

lovely scenery, fun basic bouldering, nice new boardwalk to preserve and conserve the stream at the base of the falls

On the easier side of moderate. The falls come up fast; the rest of the hike doesn't have a clear destination unless you're satisfied with already having seen the falls in the first half mile, which is the easiest part of the hike.

Just went on it with my cousin and we had a great time, took lots of pic and had a fun time hiking. If you have a small kid make sure you stay with them at all time because some parts can get slippery.

State park authority tries to limit liability by posting signs not to hike on the falls to protect the grasses. Its next to impossible for them to enforce as there are seemingly hundreds on the falls during the weekend. The trail itself is crazy easy to the falls and well maintained. The biggest challenge is avoiding the throngs in flip flops. The upper trail is moderately more difficult but uninteresting save for a couple of rock formations.

The waterfall is disappointing, you can't get close to the waterfall and all the trails are easy. this place is more for kids under 13
