Beautiful foliage and clear paths. We decided to make it a loop by walking on the road through the battlefield on the way back. This was hot in August as it always is in Maryland. We also had to walk on a road that had no shoulder or sidewalk but luckily traffic was pretty minimal. All in all, a beautiful walk with tons of history and nice modulation in elevation to keep you engaged.

Really nice hike. Good for kids and dogs. Lots of cutaways to make it longer or shorter. Very well marked and nice history all along the route

Limited parking at trail head. Good for leashed dogs, but not small children. Nice walk, about 1/3 on roadways with no shoulder, the rest in woods or meadows. Tall grass - check for ticks! Bring this map, as this specific route isn't marked.

Great trail! The dogs loved it; peaceful, scenic; moved by the monuments; greatly appreciated the signage which opened a window in time ...

It’s a little confusing to follow, but a good hike! Not too hard but there are uphill parts!! Great hike for dogs!

Easy hike, kid friendly with just enough of a challenge. Access to the creek. Views of historic sites. Last leg of the trail is on the road.
