Adkins Arboretum Loop is a 1.9 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Ridgely, Maryland that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
This arboretum is so cute! I added this loop to a long hike on the state park trails that adjoin it, but it’s also a nice little loop by itself. Mostly compacted stone/gravel trails that are wide enough for social distancing and good for dogs and kids. There are a bunch of these cute little information signs along the trail about the different types of trees and plants. Also saw lots of bunnies!
Ok trail if you follow the map on here. About half in the woods but the other half was walking on the gravel road that traverses Adkins Arboretum. There’s several little cut off trails in the center of the arboretum. Those are probably a bit more scenic. Saw a snake on a branch and some turkeys which was nice. Great walk with the dog. Overall a decent trail but would’ve preferred a more wooded trail.
