Valley Peak Trail is a 3.3 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Southwest Harbor, Maine that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

I would echo the review below. The best views come a short distance before the summit, and they are truly spectacular. Much of the trail is exposed rock; be careful because it can be slippery when wet--it can even be a little slippery when it is not wet. From here, you can also go on trails that connect you to St. Sauveur Mtn. or Flying Mountain.

Not an easy hike, short but steep with lot of exposed roots and old growth. The views are breathtaking, so it is well worth the effort.
