Perfect day. Trail in great shape. Fresh blazes out near 2nd/3rd too. We threw in a couple twists & turns to make parts a preferred loop

Awesome to see the second and third hills. Not the same kind of views you get from the first hill, but well worth thr trek.

No bugs, minimal people, could have been a little better marked on the back side

A bit of a maze of trails- need a map or gps. Woods are pretty but hills are of the mole variety.

HikingBugsGreat!

Great for beginner to moderate levels. No scramble. A few inclines, but nothing daunting. Listen, this was not the views you get in Acadia, but it was a lovely hike through the woods. Trails are marked, but some junctions were not clear. Definitely carry a printed map and have your phone fully charged for GPS. Great for dogs. We travelled: RING, ROCKY ROAD, PORCUPINE, SECOND HILL, RIDGE, INCLINE, NOTCH, WHEEL, GREAT MARSH, THIRD HILL (and then reverse).

Good hike! Pretty easy but we only went for a couple miles! I would love to come back another day and do the whole thing. Nice view too.

We went from the parking area to Second Hill and then over to Third Hill. It was 7 miles round trip and took about 4 hours. There aren’t great views at the top but really pretty trails with bubbling brooks and bridges. Not too strenuous but long enough that you need to be a regular hiker.

Snow

Trail well marked. We took porcupine to 2nd hill then incline, notch, and ledge to 3rd hill. The views are best now without the leaves. The trail wasn't very icy but we had to break our way through a couple of inches of snow. Overall great hike in the snowy woods.

The trail was a little hard to follow. Ice in a few areas at the top. No view. Great exercise.

Nice walk through the wood, few vigorous uphills but most rolling, somewhat rocky terrain. The system was well marked but lots of intertwining trails so handy to have the downloaded map.

Decent hike. There's no view from either of the hills, probably because of the trees.

First to Review

I overlooked this hike this past year, but am very happy that I finally went and checked it out. Not an overly tough hike, but one that has several viewpoints and vistas to enjoy. I hiked it during the dead of winter with YakTrax over my boots and had zero issues. The entire 6.6m trek took me about 2:20 total. Will definitely be back this winter, but also a great trail running spot this summer!
