Step Falls Preserve Hiking Trail is a 2.2 mile out and back trail located near Newry, Maine that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is best used from May until October.
Very easy hike with beautiful lower and upper falls especially with the high waters of spring. Well worth the hike.p
Nice 1st hike of the year!
Very easy trail. The water was very low so the waterfall isn't as nice as it should be, but the fall colors were great!
The gps on the all trails app doesn't bring you to the right location, step falls is a bit further down the road. The falls were great, a few good pools to swim in and a couple spots where you can slide down the rock into the pools. Has a nice opening to see some of the mountains.
very easy hike with some incline. 2 year old was able to walk most of the way. The falls are amazing, so many placed to swim. Would recommend this hike to anyone.
This is a great easy to moderate hike to a beautiful waterfall. On could swim in some of the pools found at the top. Quick, well marked.
This is one of my favorite hikes in Maine! The trail it's great for all skill levels, and offers amazing views, especially at the top. When you reach the top you are standing next to streams of water running over the rocks and making water falls along the way, and a mountain rises in front of you- amazing in the fall when the leaves change!
nice trail for the kids. 4 year old was able to walk most of the trail. but keep children close and attacked to an adult. beautiful waterfalls and running water .
Nice hike during fall. Some elevation gain and slippery rocks but well worth the effort.
(As of 10/2013 the top of the trail was closed for reconstruction.)
