Great place to go for a swim and enjoy unique scenery. The walk to the falls is very short and has some information signs on the geology of the area. A short down climb will bring you down into the gorge, where there is a shallow pool below the falls to play in. You can then follow the gorge, which resembles something you’d find in Canyonlands National Park. Definitely a wonderful place to stop after climbing Baltpate or Old Speck, or if you’re just passing through.

This is such a cute place to stop and explore! We went swimming at the top of the waterfall *you have a super tiny climb to get there* and it was well worth it! There are literal divots that make perfect little pools to sit in if the water’s nice enough! You can bring pups and there’s picnic tables everywhere to east lunch and refuel! Definitely bring bug spray and a towel for once you’re done playing in the water and exploring rocks!

Great trail for a quick stop to eat lunch and view the fantastic water falls and interesting rock that has been smoothed out and carved over several thousand years, beautiful place to get some great pics.

We had a great time going down and into the pools/canyon to play.

A great picnic spot or a place to cool off after hiking Old Speck Mountain. The main attraction was the one larger waterfall but we had fun exploring the gorge and mossy side banks, too! A local suggested we walk up past the parking lot to see the start of the river filled larger rocks and a great spot for photos.

Very easy short walk from the parking lot. Water level seemed low but very pretty with the foliage and we arrived early so there were only 2 other people there but started to get busy by the time we left.

Water level low this time of year, but still way too popular with the tourists.

This is an easy access watering hole, it features a few shallow pools to cool off, great for kids. it also features one of Maines waterfalls, it drops about 25 to 30 feet down into a gorge. i believe that if you walk down and travel through the gorge you can reach the bottom of the waterfall.
