Really fun hike. Beginning has some fun rock climbing, next to the water creek. Then reach to steep hikes. Both view point are beautiful and gives you 360 view. Definitely a fun hike!

HikingGreat!

Really fun but difficult on rocks. Well worth the effort but not great with two larger middle age dogs. Rocks tough for them. Thank goodness we have strong boys to lift them on rocks. It’s a must see. Beautiful views and lots of alternate trails to hook into.

HikingGreat!

Climbing up the ravine is certainly taxing, but also fun. The top provided views in abundance. Loved the balance of woods and rugged rocks. Super great hike. We also went down to Sargent’s Pond, which was nice.

Hard is accurate, but was able to get it done with two kids (6&9) and an 8 month old puppy! Well worth the hard work for the views you get!

Giant slide was a very cool climb up a bunch of boulders. The 360 degree views at the top of Sargent Mountain were amazing. Came down the northwestern trail.

this thing's a bear! lot's of scrambling up a narrow ravine for about half a mile, then you start up steep granite ledges which offer typical stunning views to the north and west. a huge summit area, lots of people but lots of room to spread out. lots of blueberries on top, so we spent half an hour picking. We came down maple spring trail which brings you to the spring which was a puddle. You then skip across gilmore peak and back into the ravine. The ravine is simply exhausting going down! probably a great hike with kids.

did this today with my 11yr old and 13yr old kids. Long hike, lots of scrambling in the way up though shady path along a stream. Don't be fooled by the first sorry of a summit, you still have 1500 feet to hike. Reverse trip included a dip in the chilly pools that we passed on the way up. Best hike in Acadia so far.

Awesome hike with challenging rock scrambles that require agility. The rocks were wet in a number of places and very slippery. I have a few scrapes and bruises from slipping, but that just added to the fun. There were blueberries all along the trail and some wildflowers at the top. Beehive has always been my favorite Acadia trail but I think this hike replaces Beehive. It is not, however, a hike for someone who is out of shape.
