Sanford and Railroad Trail is a 2.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Springvale, Maine that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and fishing and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Easy walking trails connect Sanford High School complex, the Sanford YMCA, Marginal Way, the Rail Trail, and William Oscar Emery Drive. No trail segment is longer than a half mile. Surfaces are paved or crushed gravel.

I would rate it one star but the terrain, mud and rocks gave a great sweaty workout. Not my cup of tea with all the atv, dirt bike, dune buggy fume activity going on :-(

would be a nice walk in the woods. .however, lots of dirt bikes and ATVs..lots of racket and clouds of dust. .if you're looking for a quiet stroll this is not it.
