Nice trail. Well marked and I had no trouble finding the marker off the rail road tracks. I rated it lower because I didn't like the long walk in on the tracks. it would be much better to start from the lake if you have a boat.

Easy access by the railroad. Drive 3km on Attean Rd. There's some sort of parking lot/turn around on right side. Access railroad by little field just before parking. There is a gate at entrance. Walk 300m to railroad. Once on railroad walk on it for 1.6miles. Not very scenic except the big bridge over the river. Look for a sign with #77 on left side. Few minutes after is the trail entrance on right. (Blue/yellow post) Look carefully. Easy to miss I guess. The rest of trail is well mark. I was trail running. Half hour I was standing on summit. At 1km from summit, there is an eternal spring. No need to filter. Also great spot for Hammock campers. Tent users, it is tougher.. Leave no trace

Tricky to find the trailhead. 1 1/2 mile railroad walk to the trailhead. It was naked with a stick with blue on the left and a short foot bridge to cross. Hiked in April and once to the summit it was tricky to find the summit because the blazes were covered in snow. Beautiful hike and views from the ledges.

I would not rate it an "easy" hike. Although that may be due to the fact we hiked it in mid October with alot of leaves down the day after rain... The trail itself is not very long but it is very Rocky and rather steep in parts. That in combination with extra layers of clothes made it feel a bit tougher.

The trail head was difficult to locate but the trail itself was well marked. There is a natural spring about a mile from the summit that was a nice treat! Blueberries everywhere we turned, and the view at the summit was spectacular! As a newbie hiker I would not categorize this as an easy hike.

First to Review

Good hike with excellent views of Attean Lake. Two mile walk on train tracks followed by 1.6 mile wooded trail to the top that becomes relatively steep near the summit. Total elevation gain was about 1100ft. Plenty of rocky areas at the top to have a snack or view the surrounding lakes and mountains.
