Poorly marked, and was difficult to figure out where to go. Got a little lost at the beginning and the end of the trail. Has a good view but needs a lot of patience and you need to go onto the valley peak trail to get a good unobstructed view. I wouldn’t really recommend to anyone but besides the beginning being poorly marked it wasn’t all that terrible. I have done a lot of trails and this was my least favorite of all

Had a lovely early AM hike on this section! There is a section at the beginning (and end) where the trail is difficult to follow- terrain is all kind of rock slidey, and the markers are tough to spot. Not a huge deal though. Very pretty views at a few spots around the peaks, quick and rewarding hike!

This trail was a good woods trail but with very little view opportunity. We extended our hike to the Valley Peak Loop Trail which did provide a single unobstructed view of Southwest Harbor along with some obstructed views. It rained yesterday so the Maine state birds (mosquito) were out in force and the trail was wet and muddy. We did the trail as an out-and-back. Not our favorite but correctly rated as moderate.

Awesome trail to run!

This rating is solely based off of the hike continuing on to Valley Peak trail. After a good rain, it is quite slick! Definitely be careful, and wear good shoes. Keep an eye out for the blue markers to keep you on trail.

The hike in the beginning up the ledge trail is roots and rocks and a bit steep. However once it levels off there are wooden planks, forest floors, and rock face scrambles. The most amazing views can be seen once you approach the Valley Peak trail. Had a snack overlooking the Sound and other area mountains. This trail was a bit slippery as it rained the night before. My new favorite hike on the quiet side of the park.

Rocky trail with lots of uneven ground. Tough on the knees! The peak of St. Sauveur isn’t particularly breathtaking, but once you start walking along Valley Peak it’s pretty much an incredible view the whole stretch. The little detour for the waterfall is totally worth it, you can easily climb next to or to the top of it and sit in the shade to enjoy the view. We cheated and walked back down Man O’ War, which is a flat path (old access road?). All in all a pleasant hike through woods, steady incline, and beautiful views.

Loved this trail. Mostly pretty easy with just a bit if challenge at the beginning. The ocean views at the top are gorgeous. Was a great hike and one if my favs.

Lost the blaze about halfway up St Sauveur but with the map had no problem finding it! The Valley loop really is what makes this hike special-- awesome views of the bay!!
