Over 70 acres between Routes 236 and 103 may be accessed via a recently-improved central trail connecting hemlock stands, wetlands, and diverse wildlife habitats. This preserve offers a quiet forested walk, with grand, old trees.

Remick Preserve is manages by the Kittery Land Trust: http://kitterylandtrust.org

Take the second right onto Ridgewood Drive. Take the first left to stay on Ridgewood Drive. Park under the power lines. The trail is on the right side of the road. Stay to the left and Follow a mowed path under the power lines to where the woods begin. The trail is marked in Red. There is another entrance with more limited parking: Follow Rte 236 west of I-95, after 3/4 mile turn left on Fernald Rd. The trailhead is marked by a set of rustic steps on the right near the fire hydrant. Limited parking available on Fernald Rd.

I happened to go on the trail after a week of rain, so a lot of mud. Otherwise the trail is clean and easy to follow.

Not my favorite trail - goes by a lot of houses and can hear the road. Good for a short, generally flat run with the dog.

A little hard to see the trail on the ground but it is well blazed in red which is nice! For a local spot to walk, this is a hidden gem!

This was a nice walk in the woods and not too far from home. I did have a hard time finding the trail entrance. My GPS told me it was in the other side of the road but the directions in the details entry was very helpful. thank you!

loved it! over estimated the distance lol but it was a wonderful walk with my husband, 3yo, and my 11month old strapped onto me. very quiet and lots to see. The bridges were nice and sturdy also. plenty of bugs, esp in the areas with water so a repellant is a must! But overall great walk!

Very quiet trail in odd spot. Trail is nice with some wet spots for sure. Be careful though as I had to pick off a bunch of ticks after doing the trail. Clean up well.

lovely walk through the woods in the rain. I love seeing the beech trees with their leaves still clinging on the stems, withered and bleached white from the winter sun. It's a reminder to let go of the stuff that depletes me.

great trail in my back yard great to get out for a quick hike without ever starting the truck. trail head is a bit hard to see from the road, it is directly behind the first fire hydrant of you enter fernald drive from the route 236 side. enjoy the hike
