Beautiful location. Easy flat marked path. A fair amount of wildlife for late December. Some road and railway noise. A lot of people traffic but it was the holiday period.

The J boys needed a outdoor break post Thanksgiving and visited the RC Wildlife Refuge in Wells. Beautiful! It was a cold (35 degrees) and windy but this trail has wooded coverage and we had sunshine to help fend off the chill. We stopped at half of the 7 or 8 ‘scenic ‘ stops, saw a variety of sea birds along the marsh and river. Well worth a visit .

Quick, easy, accessible wide path. Good for families and all skill levels. One incline, rest is fairly flat. Beautiful wooded area with good water views. Did the loop 2x cuz it was beautiful out.

Easy walk with many great views of marsh and ocean. Too bad there is damage from erosion on the banks, some pretty big trees down. Path is very well kept up.

I hiked this during late July. It had a nice breeze from the ocean a little bit out in the distance, so I didn’t have a problem with bugs. At the start, you can pick up a short trail guide with information about areas in the trail. In the trail, there are lookout places with numbers that correspond to the guide so you can learn more about what is going on. Views are nice and there are benches spread throughout the trail to sit and take a look. The trail itself is flat and wide. Dogs are aloud on leash.

great for little kids and dogs, dogs must be on a leash. picnic tables and bathrooms available.

I did this trail twice last year both times while pregnant and with my toddler and it was wonderful! I Did it once in the fall and another time in the winter filled with snow (that was right before my due date) there's no up hills which is nice lol and a stroller gets through very easily. my toddler loved the over looks and you get some really beautiful pictures from them (there's 11 of them and they are numbered) it's a simple but beautiful walk and wasn't busy. Oh and there are restrooms and an info center (the staff is super nice!)

Nice and easy trail through the trees. Good path and plenty of lookout points along the way. A little disappointed by the lack of bird life.

this is a very easy, 1 mile loop. picturesque marshland. it can be buggy, so bring bug/tick spray. bathrooms are available at the trailhead. paths are well groomed with compacted gravel, but there is currently a washed out area needing repair due to erosion. enjoyable for all ages due to the flatness. parking can be tight though.

Very nice, clean trail. Pretty level train, nice overlooks into the marshes. No charge to park but on a busy day, I imagine there would be a wait to park!

Easy, well maintained trail. They have some nice educational posts about the surrounding marshes and estuaries. I went on a weekday and it was still moderately busy, I imagine on weekends it gets crowded.

Leisurely walk, great for families, saw parents with strollers. The boardwalk and path is level and there are numerous benches and lookout points over the marshes. Saw some birds, deer, bugs, all kinds of wildlife! A great 30-45 min outing if you are in Wells or Ogunquit. Brought our dog and she saw tons of chipmunks!

It’s an easy, well maintained trail that overlooks a beautiful river. We saw a large flock of geese on our last walk. Easy enough for our 4 year old- and keeps their attention with all the viewing platforms

It doesn't matter what time of year, this is always a great trail. Pick up a map at the entrance for self-guided stations and stopping points along the way. Beautiful views of the distance surf and a spectacular estuary filled with birds.

Nice little hike on a lovely April day. I'm sure much prettier later in the spring or fall.
