Two-mile, five-foot wide loop trail which meanders through a hardwood forest, amongst talus slopes, whalebacks, and waterfalls, providing remote access to and views of South Pond. The route is punctuated by innumerable scenic features including views of the pond, several marshes, and North Hill, as well as a dozen or so significant glacial erratics, and small waterfalls along two prominent streams.

Very easy trail, but has a story posted throughout the trail, my teen daughter enjoyed reading the historical pieces throughout the trail.

Don't stop or you'll get eaten alive. cascade loop may be considered hard to follow.

Main trail is well marked and reasonably well maintained (save for lots of small stumps directly in the path). However, the Cascade Loop isn't worth doing in any regard. There is virtually no trail for much of it, just marker signs in on trees directing you through a bushwhack. There is a small waterfall on it, but there are others off the main trail to see if you want to be sure you see some.

Easy to follow and well marked with yellow arrow tags. No problem following the trail in the virgin snow. There is another loop off this loop called Cascade Loop which will need exploring later as this is the trail that has the waterfall.
