absolutely breathtaking views at the top don't go too early in the morning it will be cloud cover if you get up there at the right time you will see the clouds push right out of the way from the fire tower best 360 degree view ever in this area it was an amazing hike not for the weak-hearted definitely Advanced trails and slightly wet. we came across a few people coming from Georgia from the Appalachian down south headed to Katahdin it was a great day

The word that comes to mind for this hike is "slog." The views are wonderful from the tower at the top and not great most of the rest of the hike. There is no tree line or really any interesting trail features to distinguish it. Just lots of rocks and roots, but no boulder fields it interesting scrambles. Probably should have done the eyebrow.

Did this hike today with my wife (both in mid-40s and in average shape). Not the greatest view at the top. There’s a tower that is about 25 feet high that one must climb to get the real view, but the wind was high and the tower is not for anyone with an even moderate fear of heights.

Hiked up mountain and went to the pond, beautiful hike! Great views from the fire tower, the hike to the pond was steep but doable if you took your time, I wouldn’t recommend that part of the hike unless you are up for the challenge. The AT up to the summit and back were a little steep but a good day hike, we did it all in 7 hours including a good amount of rest time at the summit and pond with a moderate pace of about 40-35 depending on the elevation of the trail. It was pretty muddy because of recent rain but nothing dangerous!

Loved my first Maine 4000k, looking forward to the rest. Definitely take the eyebrow if you like adventure. The cables and rungs are Fun. If you are squeemish about this type of thing, skip it and take the AT. That was gorgeous on the way down. Snow, monorail got annoying after a while and we set out early so we didn’t get the firetower View. Lots of cool Geography and geology, flora etc. nice trail.
