Enjoyable walk on the Maine side of the Salmon Falls River. The trail follows the river in a southerly direction and features and old abandoned mill on the Milton side that is accessible by crossing an old concrete dam wall. Several rapids and waterfalls are just a bit further along the trail.

Nice ups and downs along the rivers edge. Old dam at mill was interesting and small falls nearby.

Great short hike! A little buggy and muddy in some areas. Overall, easy to follow. We went off trail a couple of times to get closer to the river and railroad track.

Nice quick hike. Dog friendly, unless you want to climb down & up the rocks near the mill with your pup. Parking isn't really clear, we couldn't really see that you can park right next to the entrance, or you can park infront of the cemetery. The damn is off the left once you come to loop near the river, it's kinda off path. If you get to the train tracks, go up & then left down the tracks & it's right off the side of the tracks.

The path and markings are really clear at the beginning of the trail all the way to the 2nd dam after that it is questionable. Someone is clearing the land above the river so this may be the reason for the off trail. this is a great hike with lots of surprises in the river. shows you just how much a river can change in an instant. path is somewhat rough as it has a lot of roots and rocks but still a great hike!
