We took the entrance off of 98. Google Sargent trail head. Middle one. We took maple spring up to Sargent and the one other peak right by it. 4.5 miles and finished in 2.5 hours with two 20 min stops. Awesome hike and highly suggest it to moderately capable hikers. Heart rate gets up a few times during ascent.

We did this trail from the Hadlock Falls to the carriage way and Parkman mountain area car park. (On the way up we took the carriage way). We did it with a 3 and 5 yr old. This is a beautiful trail with lots of rocks to climb over, roots to climb over, fallen trees to walkover. Brilliant for kids but also just a great hike in general. Lots to see. There was a bit of water over the falls which was great. Would recommend this for all, there was no one else on the trail.

Great trail toward the mid section the trail is pretty rough, just lots of large rocks to step over, no real steps or path. But the stream is beautiful, lots of little waterfalls. We hiked it Memorial Day weekend and no one else was on it. More fun going up that coming down

Steep and scrambly in some sections but short enough that it’s doable. Would recommend on a sunny day, otherwise it would be very wet and slippery.

very rocky and rooty at times but BEAUTIFUL once you got to the top. we chose this as our way to Sargent. walked along a stream most of the way. didnt see any other person. took a different way down which was much easier as this trail was steep and rocky.

best hike of my life. most magical 2.5 miles (?)-it was like walking through candyland. The paths were well marked and easily traversable, the paths a beautiful blend of human touch and natural features. So many different microcosms to walk through. Thoroughly enraptured and in awe of Acadia. I don't know what Jerry T's reference point is for hiking but I think they may never be satisfied if they rated this hike 3 out of 5.

Very rooty and rocky in the part along stream. Hard to follow blazes in spots. Not the best way to hike to Sargent but accomplished as part of my loop. Would choose other trail up to Sargent if not for wanting to loop between several peaks.
