A great view even on a cloudy day

Beautiful wooded trail, small waterfall midway. Kids loved it (15,8) narrow in spots with steep banks.

Awesome mostly because we were crazy enough to do it in a driving windy rain storm. Not another person on the 5 miles we hiked in the area. Great photo ops.

Easy walk around the lower pond. Fall colors were beautiful.

Lovely walk! The woods surrounding the pond are pleasantly rooty, rocky, and mossy. You come across some pretty views along the way, and a cool little waterfall at one point.

Beautiful, easy trail. Wooded with lake views all around. Only saw one other person on a Saturday in August.

Beautiful waterfall near midpoint

Nice, easy trail with views of the pond for the entire path. Major challenge is the exposed tree roots. Somewhat buggy. Shaded the entire way by mature pines.

Beautiful trail, very few people. I would say the tail is VERY easy.

We went on a particularly foggy evening last Friday around the pond. Without any microspikes and finding the trail still mostly covered with a sheet of beautiful ice, the going was slow and actually quite difficult in places. Since the pond was still mostly frozen and visibility was low, the dying light gave the hike an eerie, forlorn feeling that was quite nice. It was a nice challenge finishing up in the dark.

Found the trail VERY easy instead of moderate but still a lovely trail. Perfect for a hot day because you are under the beautiful pines the whole way. Close view of the water the whole way!

Pretty hike around the pond. Some incline, but doable. Parts have lots of tree roots exposed. The waterfall is picturesque, but some of the rocks are slippery. Bring water. Parking is a bit limited, so earlier the better. Recommend trekking poles for the hills

Pleasant walk around the lake with lake views almost all along the way.

Seemed like a hybrid management between the town and nps. Very easy trail around a small reservoir. Same as walking my dogs in southern ct. Not Acadia quality. Didn't really understand this hike.

It's ok. Good hike no reason bring your dog they can't swim.

I think this is more on the easy side, I like to start on route 3 by Upper Hadlock and walk the (very rocky and root bound) trail beside the brook to Lower Hadlock. From the waterfall the trail to the right has again, many roots and rocks until you get to the dam on the other side, then the path is more smooth to walk on. Take the time to stop at the two big rocks by the road and see how many bullfrog tadpoles you can spot!

Great trail to get to Sargent. Beautiful tall waterfall along the way.

Very scenic and it brings you to a beautiful waterfall, the waterfall is best after a lot of rainfall though. The trail is beautiful and if you like nature you won't mind it at all ! Highly recommend it and you can take it and end up on top of Sargent !

Rocky, muddy and rooty.. Just about describes most trails in the area. Better trails to be found and if not for ending on Sargent would not be worth it.
