HikingGreat!

This was a quick fun trail that I hit after Kebo and Dorr Mtns. Being Black Friday I figures the crowds would be low- they were!! Perfect. Acadia is known for their rock stair work and Homan’s really showcases it. Amazing work!! We had two days of heavy rains so there were many waterfalls to see where I suspect are dry areas in normal conditions. It was so fun to see!! I’m planning on coming back and tie Emery into Dorr and Cadillac soon (off of Schiff- or however that’s spelled!!). There are lots of views along Homan’s and Emery along the top too. It’s worth checking out if you need a quick hike!!

Great trail and I loved all the granite stairs and rock formations. The views at different levels were beautiful and a nice stream/mini waterfall part way through. Going down was harder than going up just because the rocks got slippery and steep. But overall, would definitely do again!!

This is definitely not an easy trail. You need to have good balance and this isn’t a kid friendly trail at all. Beautiful views definitely worth the hike.

Fun, perfect trail! Our 7 year old is super into American Ninja Warrior at the moment and had a blast climbing this trail. The 3yr old rode on Dads back. We had a blast, saw 2 snakes and got some fabulous pictures.

This isn’t an easy hike by any stretch of the imagination - steep climb up and down, but really worth it!

Trail was steep and narrow in spots. It rained, so granite step stones were slick. Views and variety of rocks and plants is fantastic. We also saw a porcupine!

This was my favorite hike in Acadia NP! The views are stunning and my 3 and 5yo little humans hiked it right along with me. We enjoyed ourselves very much and stopped at the top with the gorgeous views for a little snack before heading back down. Great trail and the rock formations are so wonderful too!

It may be short but the trail is so unique and provides a great loop! The stairs were well maintained and were just the right kind of exercise for a quick predinner hike. I will say the connecting part between the two sets of stairs was a little muddy and hard to navigate. But overall would recommend!

It is not easy!! Moderate for sure and kid friendly is overstated! It is very steep and dangerous in many parts! If a kid fell they would die! Beautiful yes and very cool but not kid friendly under 10 atleast

Very steep in some parts with no railing. Saw a hawk and an owl which was pretty cool. I would recommend.

Homans and Emery trails not only starts at a nature preserve and gardens, but the hike is awesome with spectacular views. It is mostly stone stairs and a moderate climb. Loved it.

Hiking

More moderate than easy, because of the steep stairs. My husband and I hiked with our four year old, and we took our time. The four y/o enjoyed it and climbed up and back by himself, though there were a few places we had to be extra careful because of drops next to the path. We went up Emery and down Homans. The intersection was a little water-covered and the blue markings weren’t always easy to find at the beginning. But it eventually goes down more stone steps and is easy to follow. We were there in the off-season (late-October), and the views of fall colors were amazing!
