great trail. the cave that was mentioned in the comments was more like a channel carved out from a crack. there was a wooden bench and it was nearby but it was definitely not fully enclosed. beware of the wasps nest in the cracks because they were aggressive.

What an unexpectedly lovely trail with virtually no one there. A very relaxed hike- we walked down to the picnic spot along the river. Then continued around the loop and took the ledge trail where we happened upon a gorgeous overlook with lots of wild blueberries around. And then we enjoyed a nice wooded walk back down to the parking area. Didn’t go to the top of mead mountain as we were exhausted from a backpacking trip. Great place to let the dogs run and enjoy the quiet beauty of the area!
