Great easy hike with decent views that were worth the effort! There are definitely better trails in the park but this one was not as busy as most. Would recommend.

First time hiker and it was definitely moderate. Some easy parts but some challenging parts as well. Went up Beehive trail and veered left for the Gorham trail to the summit. Many areas to stop and take in the MDI coastline and rest. On the way down took the Cadillac Cliffs which was challenging to say the least but very rewarding.

You can meet up with beehive on this hike which was great BUT extremely crowded. Not necessarily needed to get the full experience!

Loved this trail! A simple to follow route to the top. It was a last minute decision, had we planned it out more we probably would've done the loop. Absolutely beautiful views all the way around!

We started at trailhead across from Sand Beach and took the Bowl trail up and around the back of Bee Hive to avoid the steep iron rung / ladder scramble (had a small 5 yr-old with us). We then took Gorham Mountain Trail south to the trailhead parking lot and walked back on Ocean Path by Thunder Hole to our car at Sand Beach. Clear and amazing views at several points of the ocean in many spots along the way with opportunities to take ‘side trails’ like Cadillac Cliffs for some challenging steep use-your-hands hiking. Other than that rolling ups and downs. Took us about 3.5 hours with our 5 and 10 yr olds to do the whole thing with some good stops to snack and take in the views. Highly recommend. This one was recommended to us by one of the park employees at the visitor center and it didn’t disappoint. Trail was very crowded around Bee Hive. Much less heading south up and over Gotham Mountain. Enjoy!

Fantastic views of the dramatic MDI coastline. Sections can be a slight challenge, especially if you take the right turn to go through Cadillac Cliffs. Stay left at the trail split for a less strenuous hike. Moderate rating for the trail overall is accurate. Great trail that offers a fairly quick trip to the summit and awesome views.

For a complete photomap of the trail and GPS coordinates for parking, see my recording at https://www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/gorham-mountain-2345139 The Gorham Mountain Trail is not difficult, but keep in mind that you are still walking up a mountain. It is a short trail with great views from the top! The parking lot for the trailhead is directly across the road from the Ocean Path Trail (see my recording and review for that trail), so you can easily do both of these hikes one after the other. May you always find peace in the scent of fresh air, in the way breeze feels against your skin, in the glistening reflection of a splashing creek, and in the sound of wind in the trees. Stay humble. Stay kind. Stay thankful. Keep hope. Keep smiling. Keep laughing. Love and respect nature, because that is where you will find a true lifetime of happiness! Also love and respect everyone who crosses your path. There is a reason why they did. If I see you on the trail, I promise to say "Hi" :-) Thank you for your time in reading this, because time is a gift that can not be taken back. I appreciate it. Have a great day!
