I walked this loop in November and then again last weekend. Definitely want to go when it hasn't rained the night before because it can get incredibly muddy!

The map on this app shows these trails in Bucksport which is wrong. Fields Pond & Brewer Lake in Orrington, right on the Orrington/Holden line (Fields Pond Nature Center). Check the trees for paint markers to ensure the proper path. The several smaller trails take no time to walk at all. Starting out on the Fields Pond side, there is a small area one can beach themselves at or launch a boat. The Lakeshore trail is the longest trail at less than 2 miles. Along this trail, there is a picnic table right next to the pond with an absolutely gorgeous view. Perfect place for lunch. The Brewer Lake side of this trail hosts a small beach-like area perfect for a summer swim. Walking a little further brings you to the Brewer Lake Dam. Trail ends shortly thereafter at the red gate. separating the trail & the Dam Rd. These trails are perfect for bird watching as the Nature Center is focused around the Audobon Society. Paper trail maps are also available outside the Nature Center. Across the street is the Curran Homestead, a historical treat. Check out their calendars online for upcoming events.

Nice little trail, especially to take young children. They have a bit of both worlds..forest and water.
