The description of this trail is commingled. I have no information about the Elephant Mountain Trail, but that is NOT the B-52 crash site. The B-52 crash site is near Prong Pond off Lily Bay Road.

I've driven the back roads up here often, and hiked this mountain years ago, but believe there is no trail now that goes to the top of Elephant Mountain. You can drive up Elephant to access the AT, but not the top of Elephant.

I've done this hike many times throughout my visits to the Moosehead Lake region. It's easy and for me, a very solemn and beautiful place. I always enjoy the hike each time!
