After some difficulty finding the unmarked trail head we had a pleasant walk in the woods. The portion of the trail that follows the old road was very sunny - otherwise a nice shady stroll. He “waterfall” was somewhat underwhelming. In late August it’s a brook running down a hillside, not the flume another review mentioned.

If you’re looking for some up hill walking, and a pleasant walk along the carriage road, I’d highly recommend this trail. My 80 year old grandpa and 76 year old grandma loved it. The bridge is beautiful and well worth the trip!

From Bayview mansion took Duck Brook Trail up into Acadia National Park. Trailhead is just to the left of Acadia Hotel and brings you up to paved road accessable only to bikes and foot traffic. Take road north to Duck Brook Bridge which is entry point to Carriage trails. Wonderful flume under triple arch bridge with turrets some say is the most beautiful granite bridge in the park. Continue from here to Witch Hole or south to Breakneck Pond and Eagle Lake.
