First half mile is sending you straight up the side of Mt. Battie and it is rough. Not too much ice right now but the rock face is smooth and slippery. Coming down took careful planning and lots of caution. I only went as far as the summit of Mt. Megunticook, didn’t want to return without daylight. I will be back to do the whole thing in warmer weather with more daylight hours.

This was a fun hike, but I’m not sure if we stayed on the trail the entire time. Paint markers seem to be few and far between — there is a good bit of rock scaling involved. Make sure you have good shoes!
