It is a rocky road up to a cell tower. Good hike up. Amazing view if you know how to find it. Do a little exploring around the top and you can’t miss it. The guy who said there is no view is incorrect. I wish I could upload a picture

Great walk with dogs! It is just a dirt road to a cell tower, but has a nice incline without being overwhelming. Bring bug spray though - we hiked for 2 hours and didn’t see anyone else, so the mosquitoes were hungry.

Well maintained snowmobile/Atv trail. A short hike to the top. Easy for all levels. At the beginning of the trail from north Raymond road stay to the right at the fork in the dirt road. Enjoyed with my Pomeranian.

Not recommended. The trail is entirely a gravel road used by cell tower techs to reach the antenna mast at the top. There is no view along the trail nor at the top. If You're looking for a 3-mile hill climb, this is it! If you're expecting anything else, I'd recommend a different trail.

Similar to what other reviews said: This is literally just a gravel access road to a cell tower, nothing to see on the way up and a sub-par view. Bugs were beyond relentless and there was garbage littered around the "summit" probably from snowmobilers. The only upside was that you really can't hear any road noise or anything from the trail so it is peaceful in that regard.

This is a relatively short hike, it took me about a half hour to get to the top. There isn’t much to see along the way and even the view from the top was disappointing. It is an old road covered with gravel, and can be a little steep at some points. If you’re going to do this trail remember to bring lots of bug spray, the horseflies are relentless.

Trail is a dirt road leading to antenna. Not hard to follow, has some moderately steep sections. Lots of bugs including ticks. Got 13 ticks off the dog at end of the hike. One cool feature is a dam to the left of the road not too far from the trail head. This is an earth dam holding back a significant amount of water a foot or so higher than the road. Other than that there's not a lot to see.

Kind of tough for an in between seasons hike. Went right when it started to warm up, which made it part mud, part slippery packed snow. A very wide open trail, but plenty of shade.

This is probably fun snow machine or cross country ski trail. For hiking - it’s a gravel road of which I’m not a fan.

good and steep on the road in many places with a lovely view at the top to the right of the tower.

Good views for a quick walk. The first questionable `which way do i go' head to the right.

This trail is groomed in the winter so it makes for a good winter hike. You should wear microspikes as there are some icy sections. Winter views are better than summer.

A fine hike for a fall day. A few notes: First of all, contrary to what it says here in the listings, this is NOT in Range Ponds State Park. It is several miles to west of there, on the other side of Maine Route 26. There is some parking off of North Raymond Road before the silver metal gate that guards the gravel road up which you will hike, or you can park on the shoulder, as I did. It is basically a hike up a gravel road--though there are a few places with old pavement on it too--to the broadcast tower at the top. The route is the one marked here with the red line, not the dashed line. Stay on the main gravel road (whch is very well maintained) at all intersections until the top. It is pretty easy to follow; the only slightly tricky place comes about ten minutes in where a dirt road continues straight and the gravel road goes to the right. Turn right to go up the gravel road. There are not many views along the trail, but the leaves were turning with beautiful yellows and reds, mainly from maples and oaks. The first 15 minutes or so are fairly flat, but then it becomes steeper until the summit. It took me about 40-45 minutes to reach the top. There's really no view at the broadcast tower, but follow a dirt road that turns right away from the tower that curves toward the eastern edge of the peak. There is a lovely view to the east from the end of that (though unfortunately painted graffitti on some of the ledges at the top). An enjoyable hike!

was an okay hike. not a lot to.look at on the way up, but, continue past radio tower for beautiful view. was very disappointed in the amount of trash along the trail and the broken beer bottles at the top. Probably won't hike this again , especially not with my dogs and kids.

A moderate climb to the radio tower at the top of Black Cat Mountain on a well defined gravel road. This trail is dog friendly but may be a little too steep for young children. There is limited parking at the entrance to the trail.
