It was nice. Doggo did fine, people would step out of the way or put a mask on whenever crossing to adhere to the covid cdc guidelines. Took the longer, more flat way up then jogged the steeper shorter way down with the doggie.

HikingGreat!

Whenever we bring people to Acadia, this is always the first hike we take, because it is a relatively easy “moderate” hike. It has a few stretches that will raise the heart rate, but anyone that struggles on this hike will need to be very carefully managed on other “moderate” trails. I recommend taking the loop in a Clockwise manner so the steeper parts are climbs instead of descents. Also, the parking lot is not large, so best to arrive early or late. After taking the Beech Mountain Loop, cross the parking lot and take the short hike to Beech Cliffs, with great views of Echo Lake. The previous review mentions “ladders” on this hike. THERE ARE NO LADDERS ON THIS HIKE. If you begin the hike at Echo Lake, you will encounter ladders, but if you begin at the Beech Mountain parking lot, there are no ladders and the hike is relatively easy.

HikingGreat!Rocky

This was a great hike and our first Acadia ‘ladders’ trail. We had a few members of our group that have a moderate fear of heights and they were able to handle this. It is a very challenging hike but with two ‘peaks’ with multiple great lookouts I can not recommend this hike highly enough. We returned on the Valley and Canada Cliffs trial to complete the loop. The Fire Tower on the top of Beech Mountain made that section of this hike very popular for families with children. The cliffs section was more lightly traveled. I would not recommend going down the Beech Cliffs Trail.

Hiking

Based on the recommendations in the review, I went to the left at the fork and went up the shorter, steeper way and down the longer, less steep way. I found it relatively easy and saw people with kids and dogs as well, and the view is great especially given that it's not too challenging of a trail.

Hiking

This is an easy, quick hike with good views and a tower that you can climb halfway. When you get back to the parking lot I highly recommend walking across the street to the Beech Cliffs loop trail. It’s only another mile round trip with almost no work. When you get to the top of the trail there is a sign. The loop is on your left. Follow it around and you’ll come out at the sign again. It’s also worth going to the very beginning of The Canada Cliffs trail. That trail in itself is very boring, but about 35 feet from the sign you’ve got another great view. Why not? You’re already there! Enjoy. My kids really liked this one (anything with low effort makes them happy!)

Great trail. Hiked with the kids (7 and 3.5) and we all had fun climbing up the rocks (not difficult at all) and to see the amazing views on the way up. The fire tower was also very nice (unfortunately the top part was locked because of COVID-19) and the kids loved it. The way down was very easy. Overall the trail took us about 1.5 hours.
