Gorgeous views of nearby lakes/ocean from summit with numerous viewing spots prior to summit. Easy quick hike compared to other Acadia summits. I like how the trailhead is located on a dead end road. This less popular side of Acadia National Park is a must hike.

Go up the steeper route, it’ll make for a great view on the way down! Took about 45min, rewarding smaller hike.

Many less people than the rest of Acadia. Appreciated less crowds!

Great hike, not too difficult but would not bring younger children that need assistance. Awesome views at the top

The views will shock you - they sneak up on you and are amazing. A steep uphill hike in the beginning, but that’s part of what makes it interesting. Short but beautiful. We took our two dogs and they managed, but if you have an old or less willing dog, it may not be a good match with all the climbing.

A nice 1hour moderate hike. Rocky climb with some steps to help negotiate the trail. Well marked and easy to follow! We did it on a rainy day so the views were just gray fog, but we enjoyed it anyway!! Find this trail and do it.

Nice short hike off the beaten path in Acadia! You’re in the forest for much of it, a change of scene from most hikes on the island. Lots of stairs. We hiked on a very gray morning, and the fire tower was locked, so no views for us, but still fun.

Quick great hike. The road to this trail it’s close in the winter, you just have to walk extra 0.4 miles to get to the trail head. Beautiful views of the lake and ocean sites of the mountains

Great hike, went with my husband and one year old son (he was in a backpack carrier). Great views, wasn’t too long, and quiet.

Make sure you do the whole loop, not just the shortest (steepest) climb to the tower or you'll miss the amazing views on the .7 section.

Steep in the beginning but not too difficult. An amazing place to watch the sunset without the crowds of Cadillac Mountain! Loved getting to climb up a ways on the fire tower too.

Beautiful trail, did this in late September. Perfect trail if you want to see HUGE MOSS COVERED BOULDERS and beautiful granite, definitely one of the quieter trails on the island. There were alot of black flies, but they don't bite and as long as you keep moving you will be fine. Fire tower at the top with an AMAZING view of Long Pond and the Cranberry Islands, the hike back down is totally different and AMAZING. I did this w my grandparents who are in their 70s, they did fine but there are some doable scrambles that they needed to slow down on. Super fun for kids. Do this one.

Fairly easy trail. Walk through calm forest setting and enjoy views from Beech Mt. looking south, east, and a bit north. Wild blueberries grow along the trail. Photogenic views of south Echo Lake and Southwest Harbor on a clear day.
