If you can beat the crowd, it's worth it to stop by. The view is absolutely beautiful, especially during sunsets. You can walk down to the lighthouse viewing area, or take a short path to the staircase to the rocks for a spectacular view of the rocky coastline with the viewing of the lighthouse on the right and a sunset to the left (far left depending on the season). You can also walk further past the staircase for additional rocky viewing areas. Off season may be worth the trip for less crowds, but make sure you dress appropriately.

Super small trail but totally worth it for stunning views. There are a TON of people though, so be aware of crowded conditions. Hiked: August 4, 2019

A pretty light house and rocks to climb on. I was hear about 15 years ago and there was more access to see the lighthouse. Not it’s all fenced off.

Not really a trail. Just stairs and a short path to see a lighthouse that’s not that impressive.

I'll echo what just about everyone has said. The sunset view is great, and is without a doubt one of the best pictures I've ever taken. However, this place is insanely busy. There's a line to get to the lighthouse parking (we waited so long that the driver in front of us actually fell asleep at the wheel) and then you'll likely be fighting for a place on the rocks so that you can actually get a good view. If you don't mind the scramble and aren't afraid to hang out near the edge right against the water, people tend to avoid that area.

Parking lot is small. We had a short wait for a spot (only car waiting). When we left the line for parking was several cars long. I wouldn’t wait more then a couple of minutes for a spot. It is a very small light station down a fairly steep paved hill to the right on the parking lot. To the left by the bathrooms is a short out and back path to some stairs (37 I think it was) that go down to rocks above the water. You can hear the bouy ringing. The fog was rolling in and islands across the way disappeared as we sat there so that was cool, but otherwise I wouldn’t bother stopping here.

I wouldn’t necessarily call this a hiking trail but it offers a nice view of the lighthouse if you are willing to climb down a few rocks. It was an amazing walk as a storm was rolling in off the coast!

Kinda disappointed in the view, very hyped up

Short walk down to a view of the light from below along the coast.

Just couldn't get the right angle...and it's just an ok lighthouse anyways. Skip it unless you are a big lighthouse fan.

If you are a lighthouse fanatic than this quick trip is for you, Kids were bored and not interested. The lighthouse from the west side makes a good photo

Brand new staircase and is very easy, wouldn’t consider it a trail.

The trail to the beautiful view is currently closed until Memorial Day. There is a path on the right of the lighthouse that is open, but the view is so close that it’s not pretty.

Super short walk to descending staircase, quick walk over large granite rocks to an iconic view of one of the most photographed lighthouses on the east coast! Quick, awesome, great take away lighthouse photo!

Short, rocky, treacherous trail that leads to one of the most photogenic lighthouse in the USA. Go for sunset and bring bug spray!!!

Sun Sep 16 2018

Not much of a trail, but more of a short path to the rocks below a frequently photographed lighthouse. Getting a popular picture with your pretty mug amongst some beautiful rocks with a light house in the background is definitely worth the minimal effort.

two different paths. one very easy other one is moderate and rocky.
